Princess Dental Staffing already ran a web platform connecting dental offices with dental professionals for temp shifts and permanent placement. The agency set out to give candidates an iPhone and Android app - one that alerts them the moment a best-fit job posts and lets them apply on the spot.
Why Princess Dental Staffing?
Princess Dental Staffing is one of the top dental staffing agencies in Arizona, with operations in California, Colorado, and Washington DC. The agency connects dental offices with hygienists, dental assistants, dentists, and front-office staff for both temporary shift work and permanent placement.
The web platform already handled that: one common online application where employers post temp requests and permanent openings, and professionals apply. But dental temp staffing is a crowded market - established agencies and newer app-first marketplaces chase the same candidates. A candidate who only checks a website now and then misses out.
Princess came to Designli for an iPhone and Android app that lets temp workers find jobs and apply right from their phones, with push notifications when a job that fits goes up. Candidates stay connected, and Princess's people get first crack at open shifts.
Step into the SolutionLab.
Designli's proprietary product roadmapping service, the SolutionLab, gave Princess a complete design of the candidate app. The agency already had a working web platform, so the SolutionLab focused entirely on the candidate side - profiles, job search, and push notifications.
A profile built for the position.
A hygienist completes a different profile than an assistant or a front-office receptionist. The SolutionLab mapped position-specific profile flows instead of one generic form. Candidates add a resume, work experience, skills and credentials, a bio, and a photo, then submit the profile for review and activation.
Temporary and permanent work in the same app.
Princess places candidates in short-notice temp shifts and in permanent roles, and the app handles both without getting cluttered. Job search has a Temporary / Permanent toggle, with filters for position, distance, and calendar-based dates. Job details show the pay, the shift hours, and the office location with a map and directions. Candidates can also message offices and store documents in the same place.
UX/UI Design & Prototype.
Designli prototyped every Princess Dental Staffing candidate flow: onboarding and sign-up, position-specific profile completion, finding jobs, notifications, availability, and My Jobs. Building a fully clickable prototype ensured the client - and our developers - shared the same picture of how the app would look and behave before development began.
A dedicated product team.
Designli acted as Princess's outsourced engineering department by assembling a full-time dedicated team of developers, designers, QA specialists, and a Product Owner. The new iPhone and Android candidate apps are built with React Native from a single code base, running on the same server APIs that already power the Princess web platform. The app connects candidates to the same marketplace where offices post temp requests and permanent openings - the candidate side of the platform Princess already ran. It holds a 4.9 out of 5 rating on the App Store, where one reviewer notes that Princess consistently has more jobs than any other agency.
