Why Eume?

Our client, a professional psychologist, spent decades helping their clients through mental health concerns and life’s many ups and downs. Through this experience, they realized something profound: most people simply seek connection and a thoughtful ear to listen. 

Better yet, when the listener is taught to provide a warm and welcoming environment, and shares some of the same life history and experiences - well, this could really help a lot of people. 

As just an idea, Eume sought complete product strategy, graphic design, prototyping for early market feedback, and end-to-end development and launch support to get the startup off the ground. Designli was the perfect fit.

Step into the SolutionLab.

All Designli customers begin with the SolutionLab, our proprietary roadmapping initiative. The user personas were established, the monetization strategy was formed, the feature set was defined, and the mobile app designs were finalized. This equipped our client to begin early discussions with others about the idea behind Eume, validating the concept with those in the target market.

Forming a custom software backlog.

For clients who don’t have experience with custom software projects, the SolutionLab is a hugely helpful exercise. It helps shed light on how custom software functions and allows the Designli engineering team to consult on how a feature set can be minimized by embracing manual processes for an MVP launch instead of immediately jumping to automation.

Each feature was defined, with its effort estimated, and added to a Development Backlog.

A multi-disciplinary team.

The SolutionLab works because it involves every discipline that a successful mobile app startup needs to succeed. Eume benefitted from input from our Lead Graphic Designer, our Lead Developer, and our Solutions Architect so that each of these disciplines could guide early decision-making and ensure the best-laid roadmap.

This aligns everyone’s expectations and ensures our team and client know what to expect before embarking on the journey of building a startup app with custom code.

UX/UI Design & Prototype.

In a two-week Design Sprint before Development was set to start, our team prepared a complete navigable simulation of each Eume feature. This ensured alignment with what each feature should look and feel like, and gave our client more sharable materials for early market feedback.

A  dedicated product team.

Designli specializes in assigning full-time, dedicated team members who are 100% focused on our client’s mission, adopting it as their own until that mission is accomplished. 

For Eume, this meant assigning a full-time mobile developer and backend developer for a six-month period. These full-time teammates were supported by fractional roles: a Product Owner to guide the development process, a Designer to continue to iterate the design based on feedback and feature changes, and a Quality Assurance Analyst to test all features before release.  With full-time focus from the disciplines that are needed to build quality software, Eume was off to the races. Upon launch, our scalable team model allowed Eume to drop to fractional support as market traction was gained.

We continue to support Eume in their goal of giving everyone a friend to talk to, at any time, for an affordable price.

Eume allows anyone to browse a list of Friends currently online, and what subjects they are most equipped to talk about based on their own life experiences.

When connecting with a Friend, users can define precisely what they are looking for at that moment: human connection, understanding, or a shoulder to lean on. 

This ensures that the Friends they’re matching with are fully informed and can participate in the best possible conversation for that person.

Feature spotlight: text, audio, or video. Now or later.

Eume allows users to connect with a Friend over a text-only chat, an audio-only conversation, or a live video call. 

These conversations can be scheduled immediately, or can be set for a predetermined date/time in the future. The goal is to bring personalized emotional support to Eume users whenever it works best for their schedule.

Designli has consistently met self-imposed deadlines for progress with initial concepts, UI, and development. Meetings are frequent and informative, and all members of their team communicate promptly and professionally.

Our questions and feedback are addressed continuously, which has resulted in confidence in the overall project and Designli's management. Their project management is exceptional.
